FOUR GOOD REASONS TO NOT REPRODUCE THIS MATERIAL IN ANY WAY

REASON ONE: It’s Not Helpful To Treatment Participants

Copying this curriculum works against the very purposes for which it was written – to provide a comprehensive curriculum, complete with cautions, tips, and information specific to the dually diagnosed population.

REASON TWO: It’s Not Ethical

The Ethical Standards for Alcohol and Drug Counselors set forth by NAADAC, The Association for Addiction Professionals, states in PRINCIPLE 6: PUBLICATION CREDIT within 6c… shall in no way violate the copyright of anyone by reproducing material in any form whatsoever, except in those ways which are allowed under the copyright laws. This involves direct violation of copyright as well as the passive assent to the violation of copyright by others.

REASON THREE: It’s Not Practical

The price of the curriculum was intentionally set for many reasons. One of which was to make it more expensive to copy than to purchase! Additional copies may be purchased through mckillipbasics.com or you may contact the author for additional payment options.

REASON FOUR: It’s Not Legal

“Copyright is a statutory or common law right of authors to publish their works, and to prevent others from copying their works. Violation of a copyright is called infringement. Infringement includes the unauthorized or unlicensed copying of a work subject to copyright. For example, Title 17 of the U.S. Code defines the exclusive rights of copyright holders. There are also several provisions which create crimes for copyright infringement that includes…” – well, you get the idea.
